Speech-Language Pathologist

Caroline has over 11 years experience in treating both children and adults with speech, language, fluency, voice, feeding and swallowing disorders.  She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Valdosta State University.  She is a member of the American Speech Hearing and Language Association and the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology.    Prior to opening Therapy SPOT in 2007, Caroline practiced in the hospital settings, early intervention programs, nursing homes, home health care and hospice.    Caroline has experience and training in the treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders, stuttering, language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, voice disorders, feeding/swallowing disorders, autism and has had extensive training and experience in implementing sensory integration techniques into her treatment sessions. She has been trained in the Kaufman Speech Praxis Program, Susan Rosenfeld Johnson’s Talk Tools Program, and uses a variety of Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems with her patients.   In addition, Caroline is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding.  She has been awarded the American Speech Language Hearing Association ACE Award for exceeding requirement for continuing education in the field of speech language pathology.  Caroline enjoys working with the families of her pediatric patients to empower them to become their child’s therapist at home every day.  She believes that progress in treatment occurs when therapist partner with families and when children have fun learning new skills. Caroline also enjoys working with the adult population specializing in treatment of aphasia, cognitive linguistic impairments, swallowing and voice disorders.  Caroline enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, as well as gardening, cooking, sewing and biking.
